Camden Safety Net the Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advisory Service - 020 7974 2526, operates 9am- 5pm weekdays, offers information, support and practical safety interventions to people experiencing domestic and/or sexual abuse

Environment Service contact via Contact Camden on 020 7974 4444. The services include:

  • rubbish collection and street cleansing;
  • step recycling services including food waste/garden waste;
  • on-street recycling services;
  • commercial waste collection;
  • graffiti removal;
  • gritting streets in icy conditions
  • free snow shovels for community groups;
  • abandoned vehicles;
  • fly-tip removal;
  • dead animals in the street;
  • clinical waste (i.e. needles, syringes, injecting equipment etc.)

Environment Service can organise waste clearances (council tenants do this through their Ward Housing Teams) and the collection of cookers and fridges from domestic premises only (payment required). Furniture in good condition that is suitable for reuse is eligible for free doorstep collection (booking necessary).

Manages public conveniences and Camden’s street markets and kiosks.

Responsible for managing and delivering Camden’s duties as a Statutory Waste Collection and Statutory Litter Authority. The service provides an on-street presence with focus on performance management, engagement and enforcement of waste management, street trading and highway legislation.
