What is Camden Safety Views?
Safety Views is quarterly online survey where you say how safe you feel in your neighbourhood. We are looking for people like you, from all over Camden, who would like to help improve the quality of life for people in their neighbourhoods.
We want you to tell us about anything to do with crime and antisocial behaviour that affects your own quality of life. This could range from noise late at night to dog mess. On the other hand, if everything is fine where you live, we still want to hear from you!
We only want to know about your own views and experience. If family members, friends and neighbours want to tell us how they feel, they are very welcome to complete the survey for themselves.
Your confidentiality is assured
Everything you tell us is anonymous. Neither the Police, Council nor anyone else will ever know what you told us, and your name will never be given to any third party without your express permission.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to the information I give you?
We will produce a report summarising the views expressed by everyone who contributes to the survey. Again, anonymity is assured.
The report is sent to you and Camden’s Community Safety Team.
We produce a second confidential report listing every issue or incident reported in the survey across the borough.
This report is sent to Camden’s Community Intervention Officers (CIOs) and they share it with other council departments and the police as and when appropriate.
When the CIOs report back to the CSNB about the actions they have taken to tackle the problems arising from the survey, the CSNB produces a quarterly newsletter highlighting actions taken and some of the positive outcomes achieved.
I don’t live in Camden, do you still want my views?
Yes, we want to hear from people who live, work, study or regularly visit the borough. For the purposes of the survey we want to know your views covering the area from where you get off public transport to the place you are visiting/working.
What do I do if I can’t remember my ‘Username’?
The only purpose of the username is to ensure your anonymity. In the box which asks for your username just put your own name and we will amend it for you.
How long will it take me to complete to survey?
On average it takes people less than 5 minutes every three months to complete the survey.
Can I complete the survey on behalf my tenants/residents association?
No, we just want your views. Your family, friends, neighbours, colleagues etc are very welcome to fill in their own surveys.
Who runs Safety Views?
The scheme is totally independent from the Council and Police. It is run jointly by two highly regarded voluntary organisations – the CSNB and Somers Town Community Association.
