On Monday 25 January Camden Councillors will be voting on the introduction of a Late Night Levy. The Camden Safer Neighbourhood Board strongly supports the levy that will be used to pay for much-needed extra policing.
The Board has taken the unusual step of writing to councillors. The letters says:
“The Trustees of Camden Safer Neighbourhood Board (CSNB) urge you to support the introduction of a Late Night Levy (LNL) at the Council Meeting taking place on Monday 25 January (agenda item 11(a)).
“The CSNB feels it is right that those premises that chose to stay open beyond midnight contribute to the additional costs incurred tackling the crime and antisocial behaviour generated by their patrons.
“We know from holding two public meetings on Camden’s Night-time Economy, and through participating in the LNL consultation, that residents strongly support the introduction of the LNL.”
If you want to see more police in Camden you can join the CSNB campaign for the introduction of a LNL by contacting your councillors (every ward has three councillors). Click HERE to find your councillors.
